Tunxis Trail hike

I don't have a witty introduction for these, as this was over a month ago. Just tryna put something on here as I've been neglecting my site for quite some time now... Enjoy!

Shelf fungi and lichen on birch.

Crowded parchment (Stereum complicatum). Complicatum means "folded up on itself".

Amber jelly fungus (Exidia sp.). When I first spotted these, I was hoping they were wood ears, which are very yummy in soups. Amber jellies are also edible too, though.

The underside of Neofavolus sp.

Orange jelly spot (Dacrymyces chrysospermus). This was such a good day for jellies!

Callistosporium pseudofelleum.

Wood saturated with green elfcup (Chlorociboria aeruginascens). The fruiting bodies are seen pretty infrequently (I think more frequently though around September IIRC), but can be identified by its vibrant green stain it leaves on infected wood.

Moss and shield lichen.

Yellow cobweb (Xenasmatella vaga).

More crowded parchment.
